The Exchange House National Educational Achievement Award is presented to Travellers who have recently completed the Junior Certificate, Leaving Certificate, GCSE or A-Level examinations, in recognition of the hard work and commitment shown by the recipients in reaching their goals.
It is a celebration of the success of the recipients providing a chance to congratulate people on a job well done. The Award highlights role models for other Travellers who may be considering formal education and is proactive in promoting the value of formal education.
The Award ceremony will be officiated by Mr. Barry Andrews TD, Minister for Children and Youth Affairs.
There will also be a raffle for all Award recipients attending on the night with the top prize of a laptop, kindly donated by the City of Dublin VEC, as well as MP3 players and a camera.
The event is being graciously co-sponsored by Dublin City Council and these awards will also conclude Dublin City Council’s contribution to the National Social Inclusion Week 2010 to take place from 18th to 22nd of October around the country.
The event is also generously supported by City of Dublin VEC and the HSE.
